Ruko RX - fast & safe
No questions – driving with the conventional Moto-Trike can be very sporty at times. But when it comes to cornering two steered wheels always do have better roadholding. This was the reason why Ruko designed symetrical front wheels at their first threewheeler RX. After all a very powerful Honda CBR 1100 XX engine drives this new creation.
To get all this power onto the tarmac Ruko had to come to complex solutions. Both front wheels are linked to the tubular space frame by double wishbones, each with a fully adjustable Technoflex-shock absorber. Home-made hub center steering of type Vario 6 combines a steering box which stems from the old Porsche 914 with a steering column from a VW Golf III. The sports steering wheel is height-adjustable . OZ Ultraleggera-Alloy wheels, shod with 225/45 ZR 17 tyres, keep the RX on the track even when the 4 cylinder power plant directs all those horses straight to the 275/35 ZR 18 back wheel. This is held by a tubular swing arm with twin shockers.
