EZS - Threewheeled Surprise I

Recently, our German text online-magazine GespannNews showed a picture of a blanket -covered new EZS project. Those who picked up the lines underneath this cover could possibly guess what it would be. EZS were to present, during their open day on April, 10th., a brand new symmetrical-three wheeler. Only for GespannNews, constructor Dave Engbers lifted the blanket and showed us the secret project, even before the official premiere.

EZS calls their new reverse trike "Retriever". This trike is based on Suzuki’s- B-King. The front section of the 184 PS strong four cylinder bike gets a double wishbone suspension and stub axles. Steering is done by transmission rods. DC5 rims bought from US supplier Tenzo-R are shod with 215/40 ZR 17 tyres front and 205/50 ZR 17 rear. The original Suzuki rear swing arm remains unaltered.
Nevertheless the “Retriever“ isn’t constructed as a tourer but as fun vehicle and hasn’t got electronic stabilizer programmes like the CanAm Spyder.

Our first but short test run revealed a light steering. In conjunction with the wide tyres the “Retriever” is layed-out as a trike longing for fast bends and its agility is not far from sporty combinations or solo motorcycles. We plan to have a good test session as soon as the prototype has received its last finishing touches. With this trike EZS aims for big market places like Germany. This is going to be no easy goal as already similar vehicles like the GG Taurus, Q.Tec Q3F or the well established CanAm-trikes are its rival competitors.
