Some time ago Stern presented with the model “Overland” their latest derivative of the RX-sidecar family. Meantime this sidecar has proven itself fit as one of the chairs running in project “Transitus Arabiae” by journalist Martin Franitza and his journey to Northern Africa. Without any optional extras, this robust and open single seater, weighing a smart 100 Kgs. is much lighter than it’s Oriental fully laden counterpart. The body’s gel coat is colored saving on an extra paint job. Standard features are front bull bar, grab handles in- an outside, flat hood and full belt safety harness. Also there is a choice of either a comfy sports seat or a bench type one.

The body sits on a solid welded round tube chassis. Suspension is by a single swing arm, utilising an Ikon shock absorber of 100 mm travel, a Smart car type steel rim that is shod with a 185/65 R 15 tyre and a hydraulicly operated single caliper. There will be provision for a second one as well.
Measures: Length 2,250 mm, seat width either 500mm or 760 mm on bench type, footwell length 1,050 mm, boot capacity 300 litres, empty weight 100 Kgs, and permissible weight 270 Kgs.
