Mobec - Sporty Guzzi

The motorcycles of Moto-Guzzi (I) and sidecars of Armec (CH) are a good pairing ever since 25 years. And that the V-Twins of that traditional Italian manufacturer in conjunction with the Swiss sidecars even today are regarded as highly desirable outfits is not a new fact . This example here indeed shows signs of remarkable craftsmanship by Mobec. No wonder as in this case Mobec employs his own technical components - for example his Lightfork-system with modified yokes and anti-dive struts, which of course is closely related to Armec developments.

As the fork base wants more working space than the Armec solution side panels below fuel tank are in need of a modification. A sub-frame is bolted on and at the back end, the shock receives a new stiffer spring. On the sidecar wheel side works a disc brake with 227 mm diameter utilising two Brembo callipers. One of afore-mentioned is connected to the pedal- operated integral- system and the other to the handbrake.

The whole lot weighing a mere 418 kg runs on Smart- alloy wheels shod with 165/65 R 15 tyres front, 165/50R16 rear and 155/60R15 on the chair.

Other data:

Wheelbase 1,570 mm,
track 1,330 mm,
sidecar wheel pre-set 335 mm,
toe-in 24 mm,
front-wheel trail 50 mm.
