Bilstein gas shocks for BMW R50 - R69S models
Lovers of old Boxers will be pleased with this, from now on Bilstein-Motorrad are offering individually build gas-shocks and progressive springs for the full swing arm model range prior to 1969. Standard type N dampers front and rear come with ring groove for spring adjustment. Alternatively type G dampers can be obtained with threaded ring adjustment. Sole partner of the well established shock absorber manufacturer Bilstein, based in the town of Ennepetal in the industrious west of Germany, is Bilstein-Motorrad, a division of Mobec, the sidecar manufacturer.
The new dampers greatly reduce nasty drive shaft reactions, only too well known for these bikes. For sidecar use special springs are supplied. Different to original rear shocks, Bilstein replacement dampers come with a fixed spring. A stainless steel head is screwed on to the piston rod allowing easement of fitting. Original BMW rubber bushes are retained.
